“7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids” class starting Feb. 5, 2014

The newest class provided by The Edge is based on the book by Sean Covey, “7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens”.  This class is geared towards youth ages 10 and above, not just teenagers. This 6 week course, one hour a week, will cover the 7 Habits and use workshop activities to help youth make smarter decisions, recognize and prioritize goals, and improve relationships. Based on the best-selling book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey, gives young people a set of proven tools to deal successfully with real life.  The class provides students with a step-by-step framework for boosting self-image, building friendships, resisting peer pressure, achieving goals, improving communication and relationships with parents, and much more. The habits build upon each other and foster behavioral change and improvement from the inside out.

Happy_Parents-2The Edge conducts one hour a week educational classes geared toward young people, which focuses on learning about healthy attitudes, people skills, goal setting, and success in all areas of a young person’s life. Children ages 9-18 can enroll in an extracurricular course at The Edge Life Skills Center. Each course is 6 weeks, one hour once a week.

Children, from ages 8-18, and adults can enroll in extracurricular courses at The Edge Life Skills Center. The Edge has fun, proactive educational programs which focus on learning about healthy attitudes, people skills, goal setting, and success in all areas of life.

At The Edge, one of the focuses is to teach students how to apply various living skills into their current life. Positive attitude and emphasis on communication are some of the tenets that the Edge promotes in the program. Other issues are addressed as well, such as how to stop a problem before it becomes a problem.

The Edge uses Evidenced programs to ensure the quality of its courses. Evidence-based programs are those courses that have been shown—through research and documentation—to have a positive effect on peoples quality of life. The Edge uses a systematic approach to teaching life skills one can use every day.  These skills apply to all aspects of our life including friends, family, money and employment.
