When we got help through Edge Life Skills and recovery, it was the first time we could breath in a long time. Tod, Sundee, and their “team” have been the answer we have been looking for. We had no idea how badly we needed help until we got it! We are so thankful to have their help going down this path all of them have been down many times. It is so clear they know what they are doing. Families NEED this if they have a family member in addiction.
As a parent, when your son is going through what our son has gone through with this cannabis induced psychosis, and cannabis use disorder, you go through a huge range of emotions. Mostly it is a nightmare you can’t wake up from. All the regular people in your life don’t understand. They say really? Weed? Are you sure? They don’t know what to say or how to act. We even struggle to understand that cannabis could cause this. It may be the cannabis it may have brought on bipolar, It doesn’t matter at that point. It is pure hell as a parent to go through this. The emotions my husband and I have been feeling are fear, anger. Then shame and guilt set in. Then depression. Unable to eat or sleep. It is so overwhelming. At times all we could to was just sit and stare out into space. We had NO IDEA what to do, or even how to feel about it. We were totally reliant on blindly trusting the professionals.
The fear of Kobe being so vulnerable out there on the street, out of his mind was God awful. All we could do was continue to call the police to get him to the hospital.
Not knowing what to do is also another hell to go through. When we got help through Edge Life Skills and recovery, it was the first time we could breath in a long time. Tod, Sundee, and their “team” have been the answer we have been looking for. We had no idea how badly we needed help until we got it!
