Family Driven Growth & Life Skills

A calmer approach to family occasions

Special occasions can bring pressure to make everything feel normal. A little preparation can make your own choices clearer.

Decide what you can offer

Think about your time, energy and practical limits before agreeing to plans. A smaller commitment you can keep may be more helpful than a promise that leaves you exhausted or resentful.

Discuss expectations early

Explain arrangements clearly and leave room for other adults to make their own choices. Consider transport, timing and how you will step away from a difficult conversation. Focus on actions within your control rather than trying to manage every possible reaction.

Use the occasion as a chance to practise

The Angel and Supporting Members can agree what each will take responsibility for and how to support one another. Afterwards, reflect on what worked and what you would adjust. These everyday examples can inform the family’s learning and conversations with Tod.

Find your starting point.

A brief enquiry helps Tod understand the kind of support you are looking for. There is no enrolment commitment.
