Listen before planning
Ask what kind of work interests the person and what makes the next step feel difficult. Separate the family’s hopes from the Leader’s own priorities. A conversation about direction can be more useful than immediately preparing a list of jobs for them.
Choose one action the person owns
Researching a role, gathering experience for a CV or preparing for a conversation can be a manageable first step. Agree who will do what and when to review it. Family support should be specific enough to help without quietly taking over the task.
Review the learning together
Notice preparation, follow-through and what the person learned, as well as any response from an employer. Discuss how encouragement and expectations are working for the family. This guide supports practical reflection within the ēdge model, rather than offering a separate job placement programme.
